4 Easy Steps to Attract a Fan Base!
Your business is ready. YAY!
You create a Facebook account. WHEW!
Your profile is complete, AND
You have even added some photos. NOW
You are ready to start adding some content. BUT…
Who is Going to See Your Posts?
You need to have an audience on Facebook to have any impact on your brand’s awareness.
Where do You Start?
Have you thought about asking your family and friends to “Like” your business page?
After all, they ARE in your life to support you, right? Relax! Most of your real-world Friends on Facebook will be happy to support your business endeavors and will have no problem with you asking them to “Like” your page. Facebook has made this process simple for you. They have even given you the option to choose which of your Friends you want to Invite to “Like” your page.
Take a deep breath, and let’s begin building your audience.
Step 1: Login to Facebook. Go to your business page. (Make sure you are viewing your page as the business and not yourself.)
Step 2: In the upper-right section of your page, you will see a TAB that says “Build Audience.”
a. Click the TAB. A box will appear with four options. Choose the option—“Invite Friends.”
b. From there another box will open listing your friends on Facebook. You should see a TAB that reads “Search ALL Friends” in the upper-left corner. If this choice is not selected, you will want to click the TAB and highlight that option before proceeding.
c. Next, click the Invite button next to the family and friends you wish to have “Like” your Facebook business page.
Step 3: Post a message to the wall of your personal Facebook account letting your Friends know you are inviting people to “Like” your business page. Let them know you would appreciate their support.
Below is an example post.
“I am excited to be working at aJuxt Media Group! Please take the time to support me in my new position and “Like” our business page.”
Step 4: Over the next week have offline conversations with your family and friends about liking your page. This is a great way to follow up with individuals who might have forgotten to “Like” your page when you sent out the initial request. Don’t forget to thank anyone who takes the time to “Like” your business page. Post a little note on their wall thanking them for the support. It is good practice to “Like” your friend’s business pages when asked, as long as the nature of the content they are posting isn’t offensive to you or your prospective clients.
Pretty easy, huh? NOW…start posting captivating content to your page. Your content will begin to show up in the news feeds of anyone who has liked your page. This is how you will start attracting an audience and increase your exposure.
See you on Facebook!
